Apart from self usage of points in member’s own account, when redeeming flight awards, Eastern Miles points can only be used to persons previously designated by the member as beneficiary of redemption group. This restriction does not apply to redemption of other awards. Detailed rules are as follows:
- Members can establish beneficiary of redemption group list through Eastern Miles website.
- Each member can establish a maximum of 10 beneficiaries of redemption group list. After the establishment, the name of beneficiary cannot be changed while other information can be changed. Deleting beneficiary is available.
- For Eastern Miles member registered before April 1, 2010 (system input time), beneficiary is eligible for redemption when establishing redemption group list for the first time (on the same day). But when adding or revising beneficiary of redemption group list next time (after the establishing day), 200 points will be charged each time regardless of the number of beneficiary (a maximum of 200 points deduction per day) and the beneficiary is eligible for redemption only after 60 days. No point deduction will apply to deleting beneficiary.
- Eastern Miles member registered after April 1, 2010 (system input time), beneficiary is eligible for redemption only after 60 days from the date of adding or revising beneficiary and 200 points will be charged each time regardless of the number of beneficiary (a maximum of 200 points deduction per day). No point deduction will apply to deleting beneficiary.
- When redeeming award ticket of First/ Business Class of flights between China and Europe/Oceania/America/ Africa, for members themselves there is no limit on redemption times, while redeeming a maximum of two round trips or four one-way trips for beneficiaries for per calendar year.
- When adopting child or baby as beneficiary, their redemption criteria and other rules are the same with those for adults. Corporations or legal entities cannot be beneficiary.
- All the concerned time refers to Beijing Time. Other terms and conditions of Eastern Miles still apply.
This Regulation will formally take effect from April 1, 2010. |
