Eastern Miles Initiate New Redeeming Rules and Standards
 
 

From December 1, 2008 (redeeming day), Eastern Miles will initiate new redeeming rules and standards for member redeeming air ticket awards and class upgrade awards of China Eastern Airlines . 

This is the first time of adjusting redeeming rules and standards of part of First Class and Business Class international long routes since Eastern Miles was established in 2003. We make the adjustment on the basis of minimizing pressure of cost rise, and have tried our best to keep the redeeming rules and standards at the most preferential level within the industry. Furthermore, E class air ticket prices on China domestic flights have been adjusted, and therefore no longer suitable for class upgrading.

We would be well appreciated all members understand and notice the implementation date of the new redeeming standards.

Adjustment details are listed below:
I. Redeeming China Eastern Airlines air ticket awards
1. Items for adjustment:
1) Africa now has the same standard with that for America;
2) Corresponding points needed for redeeming OW Ticket and RT Ticket of Business Class and First Class from China (including Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan) to Europe, Oceania, Africa, and America have been increased;

II. Redeeming China Eastern Airlines class upgrade awards
1. Items for adjustment:
1) E Class on Mainland China routes will no longer be used as eligible class for Economy Class upgrading;
2)  Corresponding points needed for redeeming Economy Class upgrading to Business Class, Business Class upgrading to First Class, and Economy Class upgrading to First Class on flights from China (including Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan) to Europe, Oceania, Africa, and America have been increased;
