According to the difference on the amount of Elite Points, VIP membership of Eastern Miles can be divided into two tiers: Gold Card membership and Silver Card membership. The more frequent your flight times are, the higher your tier will be and the more preference you will enjoy. Member can be upgraded to VIP members with corresponding tier as far as they have accumulated the Elite Points or Elite Times required in successive 24 calendar months.
Elite Points: Elite Points refer to the points accumulated when taking 1) flights with "MU" code, or; 2) flights with "FM" code operated by SAL or CEA; 3) flights with "KN" code operated by CUA or CEA, not including the points earned from all sorts of promotion activities of Eastern Miles. Elite Points are accumulatively calculated in successive 24 calendar months as qualification of Eastern Miles VIP membership.
Elite Times:Elite Times refer to the times accumulated when taking 1) flights with "MU" code, or; 2) flights with "FM" code operated by SAL or CEA; 3) flights with "KN" code operated by CUA or CEA, in which one time obtained from taking F/P (international) Class is calculated as 2 times, and one time from C/J/Z/O Class as 1.5 times. A/D/I/U/X/Q/K(domestic)/W(domestic)/G Classes are not used for accumulating Elite Times. Other classes are calculated as 1 time. Elite Times are accumulatively calculated in successive 24 calendar months as qualification of Eastern Miles VIP membership

Qualification for upgrade
When members' elite points or elite times within 24 consecutive calendar months can meet the following qualification, they can upgrade to corresponding VIP membership.
